About Michaela

  • Graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders with a minor in Spanish (2017) and a Master of Communication Disorders (2019)

  • Awarded a graduate research assistantship studying and researching voice and speech while attending Auburn University

  • Experience working in the private practice, public school, and rehabilitation hospital settings

  • Lectured on the topics of Voice and Communication Along the Gender Spectrum, Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS), and Clinical Application of Principles of Motor Learning

  • Awarded an ASHA ACE (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Award for Continuing Education) in 2021 and 2022

  • Extensive continuing education in speech sound disorders (SSDs), motor speech disorders (MSDs), voice, voice and communication along the gender spectrum, autism/gestalt language learning, cognition, early child speech and language development, and supervision

  • Selected to participated in an advanced training for the use of Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC) for the treatment of severe Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS) with Dr. Edythe Strand

  • Selected and trained as a community-based clinician for the use of DTTC for treating CAS funded by the Once Upon a Time Foundation. 

  • Listed in the Apraxia Kids and Child Apraxia Treatment's SLP directories as an SLP with knowledge and experience in diagnosing and treating CAS. 

  • Licensed through ASHA and in Alabama and California

  • RYT-200 (Registered Yoga Teacher- 200 hour level) through Yoga Alliance. 

  • Proficient in Spanish
